Youth Platform Africa Spearheads Agri-business Transformation: A Courtesy Visit to the State House Investors Protection Unit

Today marked a pivotal moment as the vibrant team of Youth Platform Africa (YPA) embarked on a special visit to Col. Edith Nakalema, the Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit. This visit wasn’t just a formality; it was a dynamic platform to showcase the impactful endeavors of YPA, illuminating its steadfast commitment to empowering Ugandan youth, women, and the nation as a whole.

Led by a team of 11 members, with our general manager at the helm, Obed Ben seized the opportunity to present different initiatives aimed at uplifting the common Ugandan and African. While presenting, Obed Ben emphasized that the core activities done by Youth Platform Africa, including goat farming, beekeeping, pasture farming, financial literacy programs, and assistance to the needy, have transformed over 3,000 people in Uganda and beyond.

Col. Edith Nakalema received the YPA team with honour and admiration for the organization’s remarkable efforts. She was particularly impressed by the diverse range of activities undertaken by YPA, notably the Mighty YPA goat’s agribusiness project and the introduction of initiatives such as the Beekeeping Project and Pasture Farming, along with plans to establish a Hides and Skins Factory for value addition within the agricultural sector. These endeavors underscored YPA’s commitment to fostering innovation and industrialization while promoting creative thinking among Ugandan farmers.

During the meeting, YPA highlighted some of the challenges hindering the full realization of its objectives within the agricultural sector. The team emphasized the critical need for government intervention and support to overcome these obstacles and ensure the widespread impact of YPA’s agribusiness projects. By addressing these challenges collectively, YPA aims to eradicate poverty, enhance financial literacy, and foster a mindset of liberation among Ugandan youth.

Col. Edith Nakalema echoed the importance of collaborative efforts among various governmental and non-governmental organizations within the agricultural industry. She emphasized the necessity of synergy to translate vision into action effectively. Her advocacy for youth prosperity resonated with YPA’s mission, and she commended the organization’s dedication to agribusiness, which has notably contributed to job creation and economic empowerment.
